  7.     At first, moviedom's Kelly McGillis found the theater
  8. audience "terrifying." In preview performances of Twelfth Night
  9. in Washington, she would peer out during the soliloquies and
  10. "wonder what they were looking at." As it happened, they were
  11. looking at a classy performance of Viola by the classically
  12. trained actress, who has put Hollywood on hold to indulge in a
  13. nine-month stretch in repertory (for $575 a week). The play
  14. opened last week to good reviews, so McGillis may yet have
  15. greatness thrust upon her.
